Where Does Paper Come From?
Every morning I get the newspaper for my dad.
So, one day I asked him, " Where do newspapers come from?"
He said newspapers start out as trees on a tree farm, trucks take the trees
to a mill where they 're smushed up into wet squishy stuff called pulp.
The pulp gets rolled out thinner and thinner until it turns into paper.
Next, giant rolls of the paper go in one side of a printing press
and a newspaper comes out the other side.
The newspapers get delivered to houses for people to read, just like my dad does.
We use the newspaper for other stuff too.
I made paper dolls for a school project.
My brother uses it to make awesome paper airplanes.
Mom cleans the windows with newspaper
and she even wraps presents with the comic pages.
Can you guess what we do with the left over newspapers?
They are recycled.
Dad says they 'll be used to make new things like mulch to help trees grow.
Tomorrow we 'll be able to read, reuse, and recycle the newspaper all over again.
